A Welcome Message is a type of Member Notice - a type of message that can be set up and delivered when members take specific actions. In the case of a Welcome Message, this is triggered and delivered to new members when they join a group.

The standard welcome message looks like the example below:


Welcome to the group at Dgroups Foundation. Please take a moment to review this message.

You can visit your group, start reading messages and posting them here:

The email address for this group is: Because our system allows for participants to post via web or email, you can use this email to post new topics.

But most importantly, please add this email address to your safe sender list in your email client’s contacts.

You can set your subscription settings here: You can opt to receive: all messages in individual emails, collections of messages in a digest, a daily summary, or only special notices.

Where to find the Welcome Message?

The Welcome Message can be found under Admin >> Settings >> Member Notices. If the Welcome Message is active, it will be marked as Active, as in the example below:


How to edit a Welcome Message?

To edit the Welcome Message

  1. Go to Admin >> Settings >> Member Notices
  2. Click on the message name; the message will open
  3. Edit the message subject line, or the message text, as required
  4. You can also deactivate the Welcome Message, by un-ticking the box next to Active Message
  5. Once done, click on the Update Notice button

How to create a new Welcome Message?

If your group doesn't have a Welcome Message, or you want to create a new Welcome Message from scratch, proceed as follows:

  1. Go to Admin >> Settings >> Member Notices
  2. Click on New Notice - the new notice page will open 
  3. In the Notice Type, select Welcome Message
  4. Add a Title, Subject, and text for your Welcome Message
  5. Select the box next to Active Message

Note: While you can create multiple Welcome Message under Member Notice, you can have only 1 active Welcome Message at the time.
